Description
I decided to challenge myself by painting this portrait, twice, using two different painting methods. Method 1: The one I have never used before; and method 2: The method I always use.
Now I'm sure you're wondering what Method one is, well, simple. I watch some of 's videos on youtube and when watching a video like this one www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUurTs⦠I considered trying out starting out my painting the same way he started his in that video. Just out of curiosity (I do realise he has been painting way longer than I have I'm sure). So I applied that method to this painting while using a reference (obviously) and this is the result! I must say he looks awesome. Not to mention doing the hair was harder than the beard.
Believe it or not, using this method, I used less layers and it took me less time compared to when I usually paint a portrait. Which is pretty cool. Also it has the look I want. However it was a little challenging.
I did not get the reference picture online, I got it from a clothing store at the till. They were giving away post card-looking things with models on them.
